IT’S A NIGHTMARE. We have so much on our phones these days and we use them so often. Sadly, we know that mobiles are all too often stolen – often by organised gangs who make a quick getaway.
That’s where Tower Hamlets Council’s trusty CCTV service stepped up to the mark again. Two people snatched a phone in Bow – and CCTV was able to see the snatch and track the suspects.
The control room was able to direct police to the locations of the suspects, and the police arrested both of them. What’s not to like?
Residents are now asking if CCTV can help sort out flytipping incidents, which spoil the look of the streets and can be a serious health and safety issue.
