THANKS TO all the community organisations around Tower Hamlets which ran holiday clubs for children and young people around the Borough was the message from Deputy Mayor Cllr Maium Talukdar.

The Deputy Mayor was addressing a celebration last week which thanked the local organisations provided for thousands of young people during the long school holidays. There were sports, there was drama, there was art, there was food, there was exercise, there was socialising – and fun.

“I am grateful to all the tens of thousands of young people who participated in activities during the school holidays,” he said. “At this celebration event, we are telling people how proud we are of our local organisations which delivered summer activities projects. We, as a Council, are committed to delivering for local people and local organisations.”

The summer saw a very successful partnership between the Council and the local community organisations which delivered the projects. However, the Council would like to see even more organisations involved. Now is the time to start planning what you want to do over Christmas!
