THIS CHRISTMAS will be a little bit brighter for some residents in need on the Isle of Dogs. The Island Network was out in force over the weekend, delivery Christmas parcels to elderly and vulnerable residents.

The hampers were sponsored by One Housing Group, a major social landlord on the Isle of Dogs. The Island Network delivered support packages to needy residents during the recent lockdowns, developing detailed knowledge of which residents were vulnerable.  This helped them ensure that the seasonal packages went to residents who need them.

The Network is all too aware that Isle of Dogs residents, like fellow residents in Tower Hamlets and across East London, are struggling with money – as benefits and wages stagnate and inflation pushes prices up. The Network would like to do much more to help – but for now it is pleased that it has at least helped some residents have an easier time this Christmas.

Happy residents receive their hampers.
